Step 3 - Audio encoding

Introduction

The SVCD format uses MPEG-1 layer 2 audio. One of the best such audio encoder is tooLame.

How to

Screenshot If you didn't already rip the audio track(s) with DVD2AVI, do so now. In a command prompt run tooLame, as shown in the screenshot (click to enlarge). "-m <mode>" sets the channel mode (s = stereo) and "-b <bitrate>" sets the bitrate. If you want to produce a mono stream from a stereo .wav, use "-m m -a". For more information about the different command line options in tooLame, consult the README.
